Minutes of the Executive Board Meeting

A meeting of the Executive Board of the Francis Howell High School Choir was held on Monday, November 29th,
2010, at 6:30 pm at St. Louis Bread Company on Mid-Rivers Mall Drive.

Treasurer’s Report and Purchases - Karen sent
the treasurer’s report dated 11/29/2010 to the Executive Board prior to the meeting.
We reviewed and discussed the report in detail. The report will be available
on the website listed above. We placed the order for $1,722.77 of audio equipment which includes a mixer, a power amp, speakers,
speaker cables, two headworn microphones, and accessories. We were informed the
mixer is backordered, but everything else should be received soon, and we will be able to use them for upcoming Madrigal Dinner. We made a small amount of money on the Fall Concert.
There are still some choir dues that are outstanding.
Fundraising – Our largest fundraiser for the
general fund is the Madrigal Dinner Performance which is on December 10th and 11th. We also discussed a fundraising opportunity regarding selling tickets for a February 19th Blues
game. This will be the last major fundraising opportunity for the student accounts
prior to the Hawaii trip.
If we sell 250 tickets, we will get an opportunity to perform at the game. Our
price for the tickets is $24, and we decided to sell them at $30 which is below the normal $35 price. We approved signing the commitment paperwork, and we will discuss more details later. There is no penalty if we don’t get the 250 tickets sold. We
approved signing the commitment paperwork and will discuss in more detail at a future meeting.
Pam offered to set up a restaurant fundraiser at Mi-Mi’s Restaurant. Possible
dates are 1/14 or 1/21.
Choir Boosters – Our first Choir Boosters
meeting was held on November 1, 2010, in the choir room. Our next meeting will
be on February 28th at 7:00 in the choir room at Francis Howell. Prior
to that time, the Executive Board members should each write out a “job description” which will help any person
interested in being considered for nomination more clearly understand what each position entails.
Hawaii Trip – There are a total of 56 parents
and students planning to travel to Hawaii, 40 are from FHHS
and 16 are from Francis Howell Central. Each student and parent attending the
trip will pay $1800 ($2000 if a two person room is requested). The next Hawaii trip meeting will be January 31 at 7:00 in the choir room.
Choir Fees – If you have not already done
so, please pay your annual choir fees. The fees are Chamber, Concert, and Treble
Choir - $50 each; Chorus $20. They were due October 1. Karey will put together a list and assess fines soon.
Madrigal Dinner Report – We discussed many
details regarding the Madrigal. Scott and Karey met off site to discuss the backdrop
and construction issues. Pam is arranging food for the students on Friday. There are several other activities on the same nights at Francis Howell Central. Karey met with the activities director and the janitor of FHC to work out details
and signage. Karey will send a separate email to parents and students which
will address parking and other details.
Executive Board Positions – At this time no
one has indicated interest regarding being on the Executive Board for the next school year.

can shadow the current members.

The meeting adjourned around 8:15 p.m. The next board meeting
will be at 6:15 p.m. on January 31th in the choir room at Francis Howell. There
will be no meeting in December.
